Trento, Italy, November 2001

In early November, just a few weeks after my father's death, I went to IRST (near Trento, Italy), to meet with Paolo and Malik to work on the book we're writing. I arrived on Wednesday the 7th, we worked for four days straight, and then I left on Monday the 12th.

These pictures were taken just outside the IRST building, on the morning of November 10.

On Sunday the 11th, Malik and I decided to walk to IRST from the hotel in downtown Trento. The route took us through the city square.

IRST is at the top of a hill to the north of town. The walk took us about 1-1/2 hours, because we had to backtrack several times. These pictures were taken about halfway up the hill.
